2023: The Paradox of Success

You desire career success.

That's relatable.

In the year 2023, I achieved career success, and this is what I learnt.

I made big shots.

The Jackjumpers won games.

I scored 1000 points for my club.

I conquered Germany.

Traveled the world.

Played for the Australian team.

I'm thriving, succeeding, and finding excellence in my job.

But did this success bring me joy?

Does it bring me Happiness?

Does it create inner peace?

Am I enough?

The answer is no.

All I continue to feel is hunger.

No matter how big the shot, I want a bigger one.

No matter how well I perform, I must improve.

I'm running a race where the finish line continues to move forward.

I sat in college dreaming of these moments.

If only I could play more I’d be happy.

If only I was a pro my life would be good.

If only I was a starter I would feel like I’m enough.

Career success doesn't bring me inner smoothness.

Relationships do.

It’s the early morning drives with my roommate Fab.

We laugh about how much I love storms.

We discuss creating electricity from scratch.

It’s the laughs with my friends at the dinner table.

We create imaginary situations about the man who invented the saying "It’s good luck to be shit on by a bird."

It’s the shaking arms and cries for help when my trainer Eduardo puts my brother and I in a 10-minute plank.

Lloyd always gave up first.

It’s the intense UNO battles with Beth, that's what brings me joy.

This is the paradox of success.

External career success does not create internal satisfaction.

In the year 2024, my goal is simple.

I'm building a community of like-minded people.

People who want to grow together, struggle together, and celebrate together.

The App "Pursuit of Excellence" is currently in the works.

It will be a space for a community to grow.

For YOU to build relationships, create happiness, and make YOUR goals become reality.

There is no point in succeeding alone.

That does no one any good.

Let's dominate 2024 together.
